Blastoise is a Pokémon that belongs to Gary Oak. It was his sixth revealed Pokémon.
Pokémon Tales: Ian[]
In Vs. Blastoise, Gary reveals that Blastoise was his starter Pokémon, and chooses it to battle Ian's Snorlax. Despite Snorlax's Thick Fat, the power difference was clear, as Blastoise wins. Ian then chooses Charizard, as the two engaged in a gruesome battle. The two Pokémon activated their abilities, Torrent for Blastoise and Blaze for Charizard, though in the end, Blastoise wins the battle.
Pokémon Tales: Elise[]
In Vs. Gary 2, Blastoise is first chosen in Gary's full battle against Ian to fight Ian's Sandslash. These two starter Pokémon fight evenly, but Blastoise's type advantage gives it the win. It later has a rematch with Charizard, relying more on speed to match Charizard, while its power went up with its Power Up Punch attack. While Blastoise holds the advantage for most of the match, Charizard manages a strong combo, causing the two Pokémon to activate their abilities again. This time, however, Charizard is the one who comes out on top.
Pokémon Tales: Dawn[]
In Vs. Shieldon, Blastoise was chosen to help propel Gary and Ian up towards Hunter J's ship. It uses Hydro Pump at first, then shifts to Hydro Cannon. They pierce through the ship's hull, though Blastoise is exhausted afterwards.
In Vs. Lake Spirits, Blastoise uses Hydro Pump to fly through the sky to battle Hunter J's Salamence. It is able to fire some attacks, but is blocked at every turn. When the Galactic Bomb went off, it is blasted back to the shore.
Pokémon Tales: Max[]
In Vs. Mega Lucario, Blastoise battles against Korrina's Lucario. Blastoise takes the initial advantage, until Lucario Mega Evolves. Blastoise is outmatched but the battle is interrupted. The battle is continued later where Blastoise stands more of a match. It is still defeated.
In Vs. Pumpkaboo, Blastoise battles Alain's Charizard to stop it from burning the area down. It puts out the fires and easily wins the battle. However, the battle ends once the misunderstanding is cleared up.
In Vs. Goomy, Blastoise uses Blizzard in combination with Conway's Arcanine to make a mist to escape. It later desolates the forces of Team Flare Grunts and a Flare Admin. It is the one to find the Blastoisinite in the swamp.
In Vs. Mega Blastoise, Blastoise has a rematch with Korrina's Lucario, achieving Mega Evolution for the first time. However, the surge of energy is too much for it and it rampages and defeated. Blastoise and Gary bond together afterwards, Blastoise learning Aura Sphere and defeating a Dragalge. They have another rematch with Mega Lucario, this time harnessing Mega Evolution and the new Mega Launcher ability. The battle ends in a draw.
In Vs. Mega Gardevoir, Blastoise battles Diantha's Gardevoir. They Mega Evolve instantly. Despite Blastoise managing to keep up with Mega Gardevoir, it loses the battle without landing a hit.
In Vs. Mega Banette, Blastoise battles Silver's Abomasnow. The two are even until Abomasnow Mega Evolves, Blastoise now being pushed back. After this Blastoise Mega Evolves and powers up with its Mega Launcher ability. It wins the battle.
In Vs. Mega Absol, Mega Blastoise battles Alain's Mega Charizard X. The two are even and survive each other's strongest attacks. Mega Charizard survives a second Hydro Cannon and Blastoise is defeated shortly afterwards.
In Vs. Mega Army, Mega Blastoise assists in the battle against the Mega Army.
In Vs. Mega Gyarados, Mega Blastoise continues to battle the Mega Army. Its Mega energy is drained by Lysandre Labs later.
Pokémon Tales: Mega/Companion[]
In Vs. Malva, Blastoise Mega Evolves and battles Brodie's Ditto which transforms into Mega Blastoise to match it. Their battle lets off a smokescreen which allows Brodie and the others to escape.
In The Rocks of Mega Evolution, Blastoise Mega Evolves to assist in battling Lysandre. However it gets its Infinite Energy drained from it instead.
